Title: Communications Leader ($150k+) Org Type: Global Health Location: New York, NY
OPPORTUNITY: Reporting to an external affairs VP and leading a two-person communications team you will execute and provide oversight to all aspects of organizational communications. These aspect include media and public relations, branding and messaging, publication planning and dissemination of data, digital communications including website and social media, crisis communications, spokesperson development, managing pertinent vendor relations, and communications-related administrative matters. You will develop strategic partnerships, platforms, and events to increase organizational relationships with and reputation among the nonprofit's major stakeholders.
As the communications leader, you will provide strategic counsel and be responsible for developing a proactive and responsive communications strategy that positions the organization with a compelling mission and as a credible support-worthy partner. This strategy must be effective for multiple audiences including industry, public sector researchers, philanthropic and private donors, policy makers, government donors, media, global health advocates, scientific experts, prospective employees, physicians and patients.
QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires a BS/BA degree and 7-10+ years of generalist experience in comprehensive broad-based communications environment with emphasis on reputation building, media relations, and content development. International public health, drug development or science related experience along with some agency related experience is preferred but not required. A collaborative work style based on open, transparent, continual communication, sharing, and inclusive decision-making is a must.
