St. Luke’s Health Care System announces an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic and proven health care executive to serve as their new President and Chief Executive Officer.
St. Luke’s Health Care System, in Duluth, Minnesota, is a regional referral center whose two hospitals, an employed medical group with almost 300 providers, 41 clinic sites and two pharmacies serve patients and communities across three states. With a patient-centered focus, St. Luke’s Health Care System’s high-quality medical staff provides state-of-the-art care to patients while living out their mission to put “The Patient Above All Else.” St. Luke Health Care System is a member of Wilderness Health, a collaborative committed to advancing access to high quality rural health care in northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. While the organization maintains key strategic relationships with health care entities in the surrounding region, St. Luke’s Health Care System remains an independent and healthy organization.
Reporting to the St. Luke’s Health Care System Board of Directors, the President and Chief Executive Officer will lead the health system in strategic, operational and financial decisions to maintain and strengthen the system’s role within a changing healthcare environment, and to continue to serve as an important contributor and resource to the immediate and surrounding communities. The President and Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for establishing and implementing a strategic plan to drive financial performance, service growth across the continuum to meet current and changing needs of healthcare, implementation of physician governance and medical staff integration, and programs promoting excellence of quality of care and service excellence. The President and Chief Executive Officer will support the changing health care needs of the community by overseeing the development of new programs and services, including a building expansion project underway, as well as enhancement of existing services.
The President and Chief Executive Officer will have demonstrated experience leading a similar size organization and a track record of success in hospital and ambulatory operations and finance, partnering with physicians and furthering the integration of health programs, services, and providers. Exceptional communication and leadership skills are essential. An advanced degree in business or health care administration is required.
