The Tenet Emergency Manager will be responsible for the day to day support of Tenet Enterprise (Tenet Hospital Operations, USPI & Conifer) emergency management programs. This position is responsible for serving as the incident commander during disasters as a backup and support person to the director of emergency management. Serves as a 24/7 Emergency Management On-Call decision maker on a rotating basis (50% on call per month). Answers questions and concerns from colleagues served. Develops policies and procedures to address mitigation, preparation, response and recovery of the Enterprise facilities and colleagues from disasters. Ensures that the customer perspective is the driving force behind decisions and actions. Becomes proficient in the Everbridge Mass Notification system
Up to 25% travel - as travel is required, we will run a MVR on the final candidate.
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Emergency Management, Fire Protection or Public Safety & Health degree major preferred. Able to teach National Incident Management System (DIMS) and the Hospital Incident Management System (HICS). Proven ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjust effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures. Available to arrive in the Tenet Corporate office within 60 minutes to open the Corporate Incident Command Center. Obtains the Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) title within 2 years of hire. Has four years or more of successful emergency management experience. Proven ability to work well in high stress environments. Strong oral and written communication skills. Sets high standards of performance for self and others; assumes responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self imposes standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed
