Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a full-time Section Chief of our Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory at our flagship 636 bed level 1 trauma center in Temple, Texas. The laboratory serves all our BSWH facilities in Central Texas and was established in 1978.
Board Certified / Board Eligible Ph.D., M.D or MD/PhD. degree

Our BSWH full-service laboratory performs both constitutional (prenatal and postnatal) and cancer cytogenetic testing, FISH/CISH testing, chromosomal microarray testing and cancer testing. Certification from the American Board of Medical Genetics is required, with training and several years of job experience in constitutional and cancer cytogenetics. If qualifications allow there may also be a role in the Molecular laboratory.
Oversight and direction of the day-to-day operations of the clinical cytogenetics diagnostic service
Cytogenetic case sign out
Aid in molecular sign out
Troubleshooting and new test development including clinical validation studies
Teaching medical students, residents and fellows
Participate in tumor boards
Develop and participate in quality projects
Compliance with all state and national regulations including CAP, The Joint Commission and CLIA certifications
Develop and maintain policies and procedures
Hours M-F, 8am-5pm
