Vanderbilt Health RX Solutions a subsidiary of Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) offers a proven approach to pharmacy management that empowers hospital systems and self-funded health plans to improve medication outcomes and control cost. We are currently seeking a Director of Operations and Pharmacy Services to oversee client delivery and operations for Vanderbilt Health Rx Solutions. This role will have primary responsibility for seamless client implementations, optimizing the delivery of new and existing services to achieve overall client satisfaction. This position reports to the Vice President of Vanderbilt Health Rx Solutions.
Coordinating delivery and operational excellence of pharmacy services and complex projects including ongoing support and maintenance for the client.
Developing knowledge of best practices and market trends and contributing to the development and enhancement of new and existing products and services.
Working across the VUMC organization to optimize business processes, align data and workflow requirements, reporting and client dashboards with the appropriate IT services and stakeholders.
Overseeing procurement processes, resource allocation, policies and procedures.
Supporting on going market and business development efforts
Ongoing operations management including capacity planning and forecasting.
Utilizing project management skills, tools and frameworks to deploy new programs and services.
Evaluating overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
Building and maintaining strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders in a matrixed environment
5+ years of pharmacy operations leadership work experience and/or 8 years of business operations experience.
Proven success managing and delivering large-scale system, process, and business projects
Process design and workflow experience
Experience leading cross-functional stakeholders and managing teams
Prior experience developing business and operating models
Healthcare business (i.e. PBM, Specialty Pharmacy) or management consulting experience a plus
Expertise in data analytics and reporting tools
PharmD from an accredited college/university preferred
Business and/or Operations degree
MBA or professional certifications preferred
Demonstrated track record of executing complex business initiatives, including a role managing and interfacing with leaders
Ability to establish immediate credibility with team members and across cross-departmental stakeholder groups; can build consensus and achieve goals through influence
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
Enjoy working in dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
Creative thinking and ability to seek innovative solutions to complex technical/business problems.
IT Systems background a plus
Background working in a for-profit organization with financial performance
Pharmacy hospital operations experience in a health system environment
Experience with 340-B Programs
