A one-year clinical research fellowship position starting June 2019.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to strengthen their application for the Orthopedic Residency Match or just to broaden their knowledge base. The research fellow will be expected to work on numerous projects with several investigators; therefore, excellent organizational and communication skills are paramount. Duties include project design, Institutional Review Board applications, scientific literature search, data collection, biomechanical testing, progress updates and manuscript preparation. Research projects will involve clinical outcome studies, anatomic dissection investigations and biomechanical studies.
You will have the opportunity to work with several Orthopedic surgeons and many Orthopaedic residents. We have a fully accredited ACGME approved Orthopaedic Residency with 3 residents per year. Our previous research fellows have been prolific, with typically 10-12 accepted or published manuscripts and numerous abstracts accepted for presentation at national meetings during the year.
Ideal candidates are typically graduates of a MD or DO medical school and preferably (but not required to) have some residency experience in a surgical field, or alternatively could have a Scientific or Nursing background.
