Summary of Responsibilities
Lead health services research projects including proposal preparation, writing study protocols, overseeing project activities, and writing and presenting results.
Apply advanced analytic skills to design statistically sound analytical approaches and compelling data visualizations that support population health improvement for medical groups and integrated health care systems across the US.
Analyze integrated administrative & clinical data using statistical and data visualization software, e.g., SAS, Stata, R, Tableau.
Lead and conduct integrated qualitative and quantitative analyses, or mixed methods research studies.
Generate reports, provide insights, and interpret quantitative and qualitative analytic results in clinically meaningful terms.
Participate in developing policies and procedures for data management, including detailed documentation, methods for clinically credible risk adjustment, and other elements of sound analytic practice.
Health Care Research Scientist
Master’s degree in health services research, public health, statistics, epidemiology, or related field (Doctoral degree preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in health services research or related field.
Expertise in quantitative statistical software, e.g., SAS, Stata, R, SPSS
Proficiency with qualitative software, e.g., NVivo, Atlas.ti
Proficiency with Tableau or other advanced data visualization software
Expertise in analysis of clinical, operational, and financial health care data, including qualitative and quantitative methods
Experience conducting dissemination and implementation research
Proven ability in conveying complex concepts to audiences with multiple perspectives, at different levels of sophistication, including chief medical and quality officers, front-line care teams, and operations executives
Experience working in clinical settings, health care operations, or quality improvement, including clinical translation
Experience designing and planning studies, conducting analyses of clinical outcomes, and presenting findings
Demonstrated experience in proposal preparation, including literature review
Strong written and verbal skills required
