Research Analyst II, General Pediatrics
Vanderbilt Health
Description JOB SUMMARY: Our research team is focused on improving the health of families by implementing behavioral interventions in clinic and community settings. We have recently been funded to conduct two large-scale randomized controlled trials. We are looking for an experienced research analyst to help manage the quantitative data needs of these trials, including 1) building and maintaining REDCap databases, 2) evaluating the quality and missingness of data collected, 3) generating reports, including data visualizations, to provide real-time updates on study progress, 4) assisting the statistical team in data management to create cleaned databases for analysis. The accuracy and validity of data are of the utmost importance for the success of these trials. To maintain those data standards, the research analyst will be expected to follow study protocols and comply with data safety standards. Therefore, it is absolutely critical for the candidate to have extraordinary attention to detail. Our data must be imported, exported, and compiled from many different sources, and experience with the following programs is highly desirable: Excel, REDCap, and Stata. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working with different types of longitudinal data in both "long" and "wide" formats. While the above data-related tasks will be critical to successful performance in this position, our team's most important asset is its people. Our research group flourishes because of a supportive team environment, so working as a part of a team is an essential part of this job. The candidate should be comfortable making and delivering reports to groups of people (e.g., using PowerPoint), as well as explaining complex issues to people who may have less familiarity with data-related topics. A regular part of the job will be collaborating with both the data team (e.g., study statistician, database manager, computer programmers) and the other members of the team in team meetings and working groups. Under minimal supervision, performs a wide variety of complex and independent activities to plan, organize, and conduct social, economic, or health related research.
