JOB SUMMARY: Assists in planning, coordinating and executing programs with some guidance.
Your Role: As the Assoc Program Manager for the Cochlear Implant Program you will be responsible for ensuring all patients flow seamlessly from initial referral through post-operative care six months following the implantation. You will be responsible for timely communications, scheduling appointments and guiding patients as they navigate the process of cochlear implantation. In addition to communicating with patients, you will communication with many professionals including surgeons, nurses and audiologist, as well as referring providers to enhance our relationship with outside practices.
Daily tasks will include:
-Corresponding with patients and referring providers to intake new referrals
-Contacting patients with hearing loss and their families via phone and e-mail to schedule coordinated appointments
-Ensuring that appropriate documentation is received and uploaded to the medical record
-Documenting correspondence and daily tasks to ensure that no patient is lost to follow-up
-Providing regular reports to the Cochlear Implant Team regarding current status of referrals and appointment scheduling
-Interfacing with medical professionals to ensure that care is coordinated and communicated clearly to patients
-Providing a high level of customer service and empathy toward patients and families
The Cochlear Implant Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center provides cochlear implants to adults and children with hearing loss who need help beyond what traditional hearing aids can provide. Cochlear implantation requires a team of interdisciplinary professionals to manage all aspects of the patient and their hearing healthcare needs. The primary role of the program is to provide superior care to patients; however, the program is also integral to our research and education initiatives which thrive off the size and excellence of the clinical program.
