The person in this important role will provide direct, day-to-day support for the corporate communications department. This will include project management of various initiatives, executing on communications and culture programs for the company and its executives, and handling related logistics. The Corporate Communications Specialist will provide assistance on strategic communications, financial communications, executive communications, internal and external communications, media relations and crisis communications.
In addition, the person in this role will:
Assist communications team in developing and implementing a communications strategy designed to further company objectives.
Assist with the development of content used for internal and external channels (press releases, letters and memos, media pitches, video scripts, website content, etc.).
Manage day-to-day tasks including development and maintenance of media lists, issuance of press releases, distribution of company communications, creation of corporate collateral, maintenance of biography/headshot libraries, research projects, etc.
Provide support on the identification of profile-raising opportunities in key national, local and trade press.
Assist with the development of strategic messaging to be used in company materials and help to maintain/update those documents on a regular basis.
Lead in the creation of materials to support company/executive recognitions.
Help with the planning and execution of corporate events.
Track and keep abreast of media coverage in real-time.
Bachelorâ��s degree is required, preferably in Communications, English, Journalism or a related field.
Must possess excellent writing, editing and researching skills.
Must be experienced in PowerPoint and communications tools such as Constant Contact or other similar programs.
Ideal candidate must be a self-starter, well-organized, extremely detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines.
The candidate must also be a team player with a strong work ethic.
The ideal candidate has one to three years of in-house or agency communications experience.
