Principal duties of the Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC) Clinical Pharmacy Specialist are providing highly innovative and progressive clinical pharmacy services and developing and directing clinical pharmacy programs in the Home-Based Primary Care Program. Licensure. Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. The pharmacist must maintain current registration if this is a requirement for maintaining full, current, and unrestricted licensure. A pharmacist who has, or has ever had, any license(s) revoked, suspended, denied, restricted, limited, or issued/placed in a probationary status may be appointed only in accordance with the provisions in VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, section B, paragraph 16. Educational Responsibilities Incumbent serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students on clinical rotations sponsored by the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. Incumbent is a preceptor for VA Pharmacy Residents in the specialty residency program in Primary Care Pharmacy Practice rotations each year. Incumbent provides drug information and drug literature analysis as requested by the professional staff. Incumbent provides literature evaluations for the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
