Postdoctoral Fellowship - Behavioral Pharmacology of Substance Use Disorders
The Collins Laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is seeking a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct innovative NIDA- and VA-funded research on the behavioral pharmacology of substance use disorders (SUD). Current research in our laboratory is focused on: 1) developing models of polysubstance use to investigate interactions between the abuse-related and toxic effects of stimulants and opioids (e.g., methamphetamine and fentanyl); 2) validation of novel targets and evaluation of candidate medications for the treatment of (poly)substance use disorders; and 3) understanding behavioral and neuropharmacological factors that underlie the development of SUD-like phenotypes.
