The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations and programmatic oversight of the Infection Prevention Program for the clinical enterprise in order to ensure high quality and regulatory compliance for various agencies including Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA), and Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), by providing individualized patient care ?nd support of Medical Center philosophies. The Nurse Manager leads staff to model a professional practice environment by: providing a clinically competent staff; encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and formal education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount. The Nurse Manager assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, supports research, participates in both long- and short-term strategic planning, and assures patient advocacy. The Nurse Manager is accountable to the Executive Director, Patient Care Services.
Minimum Qualifications
• A valid California Registered Nurse License
• Certified in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC)
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
• Master’s degree in nursing or other related field.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Infection Control or Quality with nursing management experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Meets specialty specific clinical competencies for assigned area.
• Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of health care technology within specialty area.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
• Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certification of field of practice (if appropriate)
• Nurse Executive Advanced Certification (NEA-BC)
