Omaha, NE - CommonSpirit Health, one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the country, is seeking an experienced, authentic, and progressive physician leader with a demonstrated leadership capacity to serve as the System Senior Vice President for the Physician Enterprise Midwest Division. This is a unique opportunity to lead CommonSpirit's largest Physician Enterprise division with a direct impact on inpatient and outpatient services, physician alignment, and the academic partnership with Creighton University School of Medicine.
Formed in 2019 through the combination of Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health, CommonSpirit is the largest Catholic Health System, and the second-largest nonprofit hospital chain, in the United States. Today, CommonSpirit is supported by 150,000 health care professionals across the country, with 25,000 physicians and more than 40,000 nurses. It operates more than 1,000 care sites and 140 hospitals in 21 states. The Midwest Division for CommonSpirit is based out of Omaha, Nebraska. It covers five states, 35 hospitals, and 135 clinics and employs more than 1600 providers. This leader will support and foster a culture of excellence by aligning strategies, processes, practice, and education around customer experience, barrier-free access, and a standardized operational approach to all clinic workflows.
The successful candidate will be a physician executive at the forefront of clinical care delivery design and innovation. They will have a substantive track record of leadership in a complex, integrated delivery system of scale and intimate knowledge of clinical practice, quality, and patient safety, is a must. In addition, the candidate will have knowledge of progressive care delivery models with a strong business acumen and experience working in an academic environment. A Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine degree is required and completion of a postgraduate medical education in an ACGME-approved residency program in any medical specialty with appropriate Board Certification. An advanced degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is desirable.
