Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida seeks an accomplished and visionary Division Chief of Neonatology to lead our Level IV NICU within one of the nation's fastest-growing pediatric academic health systems. This role offers a rare opportunity for an experienced clinical and academic leader to shape the future of neonatal care in Central Florida while advancing innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and faculty development within a mission-driven organization.
As Division Chief, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across clinical care, education, quality, research, and program development within a culture grounded in compassion, academic excellence, and Whole Child Health. The Division Chief will play a key role in shaping neonatal services within this evolving ecosystem, helping develop new programs, strengthen alignment across specialties, and expand our regional and national impact.
Strategic Growth, Innovation & Enterprise Impact
Nemours Children's Health is making a significant investment in the future of pediatric care through a $300 million campus expansion in Orlando, designed to support long-term growth, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This expansion includes increased inpatient capacity, new clinical facilities, and enhanced infrastructure to support academic medicine and enterprise initiatives.
Advancing Maternal Fetal and Neonatal Care Through Enterprise Leadership
In 2026, Nemours Children's will launch its Institute for Maternal Fetal Health -- a transformative advancement in how we care for mothers and babies facing complex fetal diagnoses.
The institute will be led by Julie Moldenhauer, MD, PMH-C, as its inaugural Executive Director and Elizabeth W. Snyder Endowed Chair in Fetal Therapy and Innovation. Internationally recognized for her leadership in fetal care, Dr. Moldenhauer brings a rare combination of clinical excellence, academic rigor, and deep commitment to family-centered medicine.
About Our Neonatology Program
Located in Lake Nona Medical City, Nemours Children's, Florida is an all-private-room Level IV NICU supporting highly complex, all-referral cases. Our collaborative team of neonatologists and advanced practice providers delivers care in a high-acuity environment supported by leading-edge therapies and technology, including:
High-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) and high-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV)
Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO)
Whole-body therapeutic hypothermia
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), in collaboration with the CICU
Neonatal palliative care and an on-site NICU developmental follow-up clinic
Full access to pediatric subspecialists, maternal fetal medicine, interventional radiology, and pediatric surgical services
The NICU plays a critical role in supporting high-risk pregnancies through close integration with our fetal care and maternal fetal medicine programs, ensuring coordinated care from prenatal diagnosis through postnatal treatment and follow-up.
We also serve as a regional referral center, supporting Level I-III NICUs throughout Central Florida, with established partnerships including Lakeland Regional Health, HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, UCF Lake Nona Hospital, Tradition Medical Center, and Cleveland Clinic Martin Health.
Academic Excellence and Research Leadership
You will work closely with the UCF College of Medicine, supporting faculty appointments, residency education, and collaborative translational research in neonatology.
The division will continue to build on the momentum of a flagship NIH R01 grant focused on hormonal regulation and feeding outcomes in large-for-gestational-age infants. This work reflects our commitment to advancing neonatal science and improving outcomes through innovation and evidence-based care.
